Ducks played host to newcomers Kennington on this blustery but sunny morning.

This was Kennington's first visit to the Ducks home ground which obviously caused a few problems finding us as KO was delayed by a few minutes.

Finally everyone was ready and warmed up but Kennington with only 6 players caused a last minute shuffle of the duck team seeing our formidable defence duo on the bench.

A 9.40 kick off saw Kennington straight on the attack, this was soon intercepted by Chanel who passed back up to Katie who forwarded on to Foxy up front and with a fine shot saw the ball in the back of the net after just 2 minutes.

Not content to sit back on their laurels Ducks were off again and 1 minute later Foxy added to her score, 2 nil after just 3 minutes!

Some fine passing between Duck midfield and forwards produced a number of shots at goal which were saved by the confident & improved Kennington Goalie. However the pressure was increased when Katie Mullis added to the tally by making the score 3 nil.

Play continued mostly in the Kennington 1/2 with further narrow misses by Gabby Hill, Chanel Banja & Eleanor Thompson, also some fantastic saves by the formidable Kennington goalie. The latter stages of the first half saw the defence duo back together on pitch, Millie Eaton now taking corners with confidence & Megan Ostle pushing forward in to the Kennington 1/2, passing the ball up to Eleanor who's shot on goal hit the post, much to her and everyone's disappointment.

Half time whistle 3 nil to Ducks, time for team talk and a chance for Megan Want to warm up as she had been rarely tested in this first half.

The second half started as the first half had finished with much of the play in the Kennington end, with great passing around the pitch by the whole duck team leading to several shots on goal by Gabby & Katie and even defender Millie Eaton narrowly missing the target.

Foxy was now back on pitch and determined to make it a hat trick by making several great runs but try as she might could not land one on target, Eleanor in the same boat today could not get the ball in the back of the net.

With yet another change of player which saw Taisia in defence, although a new position to her it gave her the opportunity to show her defensive skills with some long balls passed up midfield which gave Katie the chance to increase her tally by 3 more goals bring the end score to 6 nil to Ducks.

A great game with a much improved Kennington side.
